Becker Academic, LLC, offers three levels of service, all of which, in one way or another, reflect the sociological vision of our company. We assume that the ability of an institution to develop the key educational competencies of its undergraduates comes from its vitality as an academic community. Two aspects of academic vitality have acquired special significance in our work.

First, we are keenly aware of the importance of vertical ties between students and faculty. In our judgement, vertical ties are strongest at the residential colleges of the liberal arts, both private and public. They are present to a lesser degree in the research universities which are trying to replicate the community experience of the small colleges. For this reason, our area of institutional specialization consists of the hundreds of distinctive and dynamic liberal arts colleges in this country.

Second, we recognize the need to prepare undergraduates for participation in the global economy. Our client population includes bicultural and international families for whom English is the second or third language, along with US-born teens from English-dominant families who are seeking excellent study abroad programs. (See The Sixth Factor.) We also have resources for global nomads and third culture kids.
